Hotel Features. The Ambassador Hotel new Orleans retains much of the original industrial essence, from its beginnings as a 19th-century coffee warehouse, with floor-to-ceiling windowpane doors, exposed steal beams, bricked walls throughout the hotel and a lobby decorated in a mixture of worn stucco and artwork. In 2005, the hotel opened Banditos Mexican Restaurant, Lounge and Tequila Bar which serves breakfasts, lunches and dinners and provides event catering for the hotel's 2,500 square feet of meeting space. The Ambassador Hotel also has a fitness center.
Guestrooms. The 165 guestrooms preserve the building's previous existence, complemented by hardwood floors, wrought-iron four-poster beds and prints highlighting local jazz artists and venues. Amenities include high-speed Internet access, oversized desks and safes. In-room spa services are available.
Expert Tip. The hotel's concierge staff can help land spots on popular fishing charters and provide information on tours of the area's world-famous cemeteries, swamps and plantations.
