Location. The Beach Tower at the Atlantis Resort provides affordable accommodations on the famed Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Occupying 34 acres on the island, which is connected to downtown Nassau by bridge, the Atlantis Resort originally was a casino destination in the 1960s. Adopting the mythical theme of the Lost Continent of Atlantis, today the Atlantis Resort is a popular family vacation destination, featuring the world's largest tropical marine habitat, home to 50,000 fish and sea animals.

Hotel Features. The nine-story Beach Tower, the resort's first tower that also provides the most tranquil setting, offers tropical ambience, abundant flowers and greenery, and a huge skylight over the lobby.

Guestrooms. The hotel offers 423 guestrooms, all with furnished balconies. Each room features tropical décor, pale-peach walls, light-colored furniture, and blue and gold fabrics with a seashell motif. These rooms have the closest access to the beach.

Restaurants at the Beach Towers features Seagrapes, a casual spot decorated with masks from Bahamas' annual Mardi Gras-style Junkanoo parade. The Seagrapes Circus entertains each weekend and the restaurant serves all meals daily, including a Kids Korner menu. Other restaurants include the Cave Bar and Grill, an open-air lunch spot featuring underwater views of marine life; the Beach Tower Lobby Lounge, with everything from coffee to cocktails and renowned Asian gourmet restaurant NOBU, located adjacent to the casino.

The Beach Towers contains Club Rush teen center, Joker's Wild Comedy Club, and a theater where complimentary movies are screened. Adjacent to the tower are the Lazy River Ride, River Pool, and Poseidon's Kid's Pool. Also adjacent are the marine-life exhibits Hibiscus Lagoon, Seagrapes Lagoon and viewing tunnel, and Stingray Lagoon. Close by are Goombay Water Slide & Baths, a long slide and a series of spas cut into an artificial-rock formation.

Expert Tip. Other Atlantis Resort amenities include two additional hotels, 50,000-square-foot casino, shopping malls and a private golf course.

Nassau International Airport (NAS): Approximate driving time is 30 minutes and distance is 16 miles.

Driving directions from Nassau International Airport: Turn right onto John F. Kennedy Dr. Turn left onto Blake Rd and continue to its end. Turn right onto West Bay St and head towards downtown Nassau. The street becomes Bay St. Take Bay to the bridge. Cross the bridge (toll) to Paradise Island and the hotel is ahead.

Getting there: There is no regular shuttle service from the airport so the easiest way to get to the hotel is by taxi. Fare is $26-$35 USD for the first 2 passengers and $3 USD for each additional person. Rental cars, Town Cars, and limousines are more than $36 USD. Fees subject to change without notice. Rental cars are available online.

Shuttle vans or private cars of varying prices are available. They can be selected during the process of booking an air-inclusive reservation for this hotel, via this Web site, and added to the total trip cost.

Getting around: Paradise Island lacks public transportation so the easiest way to get around is on foot or by complimentary shuttle buses from the hotel to other parts of the Atlantis property and Paradise Island. Motor scooters are also a popular way to tour and rent for more than $36 USD. Fees subject to change without notice. Water taxis cross from Paradise Island to Nassau, leaving from the new bridge for return fares of $5-$15 USD. Once on the Nassau side, local buses called jitneys provide a way around for fares of less than $5 USD. Fees subject to change without notice. Water taxis and jitneys stop running at dusk. Driving British-style (on the left) along narrow streets and through roundabouts is daunting for most visitors so if going longer distances, taxis are best. Island-hopping is possible through Bahamas Ferries which runs catamarans to out islands including Eleuthera and Harbour Island from Potter's Cay between the old and new Paradise Island bridges. Or visitors can travel as the locals do, on mailboats which leave for the out islands from Potter's Cay or Prince George Wharf, but passage
