The Carambola Beach & Golf Resort in Kingshill (on St. Croix's North shore) is 10 miles from E. Rholsen Airport on the northwest coast St Croix. This fishing village-inspired resort, built in 1986 by Laurence Rockefeller, is on the beach, with eye-catching, lush tropical landscaping of palms, hibiscus and bougainvillea. The resort's freshwater pool lies between the hotel and the ocean, sheltered by a mural-covered wall and surrounded by a sundeck and lounge chairs. Guests can snorkel in the tranquil waters of the Caribbean, or enjoy a vigorous game of volleyball or tennis. A jogging path surrounds the resort, which is also home to a Robert Trent Jones, Sr., 18-hole championship golf course. The resort has a fitness center and child-care is available. The resort also offers tour assistance, and guests may enjoy a visit to Salt River National Park, the only documented U.S. landing place for Christopher Columbus in 1493.

On-site dining options include the casual open-air dining of the Saman Room, serving casual continental cuisine; and the linen-serviced Mahogany Room, offering Creole and Thai inspired dishes in air- conditioned comfort.

Driving Directions

From Henry E. Rohlsen Airport:
Make a left onto Route 64 heading east.
Follow Route 64 to Centerline Road (Route 70).
Turn left on Route 70 and then right past UVI (Route 621).
At the end of the road make a left on Route 72.
Follow winding road past the golf course.
Go down the large winding hill affectionately called "The Beast".
At the bottom of the beach, Route 80 meets Route 69.
Turn left and the direct drive will lead to Carambola Beach Resort.
