Description:

Location. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., is an African-themed wildlife reserve located two miles from Disney's Animal Kingdom. Guests are within one mile of Disney's Blizzard Beach water park, six miles from Disney-MGM Studios and eight miles from Epcot Center. Complimentary transportation is provided to the local theme parks.
Hotel Features. Featuring thatched roofs and African artifacts, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge sits on a 33-acres of savannah where giraffes, gazelles and zebras graze freely. Three dining options include African fusion cuisine at Jiko-The Cooking Place, a food court called The Mara and Boma-Flavors of Africa. A poolside bar prevents lazy sunbathers from lifting a finger. Pampered guests experience aqua-therapy and massage treatments in the Zahanati Massage and Fitness center. Guests can lounge at the outdoor pool area featuring a 67- foot slide, zero-depth entry pool and two spa tubs. Family activities include flamingo and pelican feedings, games with savannah guides, cultural safaris, storytelling and a horticulture show-and- tell. Children can enjoy supervised activities in Simba's Cubhouse, featuring a children's pool, playground and game arcade.

Guestrooms. Safari-themed guestrooms feature African wall hangings, earth-toned linens and balconies with views of the savannah or pool. Other amenities include dial-up Internet access and personal safes. Guestrooms with bunk beds are available for traveling families. Each room contains a private balcony with views of the savannah, pool or resort grounds.

Expert Tip. One of the hotel's activities passes out night vision goggles for late night animal tracking.
Disney's Magical Express:
Guests of the resort are eligible for complimentary Disney's Magical Express Service. Motor coaches take guests from Orlando International Airport to the resort hotel. Guests of the resort may also take advantage of complimentary transportation to and from Disney theme parks, water parks and the Downtown Disney Area.

Renovation Notice:
The hotel is currently undergoing construction of new villas. Construction will occur in phases with an anticipated completion date of Spring 2009. During this time, guests will see and hear some construction activity in and around the resort during daytime hours. This date is subject to change.
