Description:
Location. Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort is located in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The property is within one mile of Epcot and two miles from Downtown Disney and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. The hotel offers complimentary transportation to all the Disney theme parks.
Hotel Features. Located on the Sassagoula River, the resort is reminiscent of the heyday of the Mississippi River, with a steam boat-themed lobby and a huge paddlewheel near Boatwright's Dining Hall. Boatwright's serves Southern favorites. For a more casual setting, guests can grab a bite to eat at the Riverside Mill Food Court, which is next to a 32-foot wheel that operates a working cotton press. The resort offers six heated pools. One of the pools is on a three- acre complex called Ol' Man Island, created to look like an old- time water hole with rope swings, waterslide and play area. Nearby, fishing holes are stocked for catch-and-release fun. Guests can also rent bicycles and boats. Romance and fun are available nightly with horse-drawn carriage rides throughout the resort. There is also an arcade.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms are decorated with rustic and antebellum themes, including hickory woodwork. Each features in-room safes, refrigerators and cable television.
Expert Tip. On select evenings, a campfire is built on the bayou behind the Fishin' Hole.
Disney's Magical Express:
Guests of the resort are eligible for complimentary Disney's Magical Express Service. Motor coaches take guests from Orlando International Airport to the resort hotel. Disney also picks up and delivers guests' luggage to their selected accommodations.
Guests of the resort may also take advantage of complimentary transportation to and from Disney theme parks, water parks and the Downtown Disney Area.
