Description:

Location. Set in a building parts of which date back to the 17th century, the First Hotel Reisen is on the waterfront among the cobbled streets of Stockholm's old town, 200 metres from the Royal Palace and Swedish Parliament building. Stockholm Arlanda Airport is 45 kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Guests can relax on leather Chesterfield sofas in the library lounge, which houses a selection of modern and antiquarian Swedish books and features exposed 18th- century walls. A selection of souvenirs, including CDs, books, toys, and crystal, are available from the gift cabinet located in the lobby. Guests can stay connected via wireless or high-speed Internet access, and public parking is available opposite the hotel.

The Reisen Bar & Matsal is a modern dining area overlooking the waterfront, and serves international and traditional Swedish fare. The travel-themed lounge bar serves bar meals and a selection of cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits, including a range of single-malt whiskies.

Built in 1690, the vaulted cellar predates the main building by 100 years, and now functions as a relaxation suite, housing men's and women's saunas and a plunge pool.

Guestrooms. The First Hotel Reisen offers 144 guestrooms spread over seven floors, all of which overlook the waterfront or offer views of the old town enhanced by reflective panels affording glimpses of the Baltic. All are defined by pastel decor, framed prints, and polished wooden floors with Indian- style rugs. Furnishings include Spanish wooden desks with brass fittings, bedside tables, armchairs, and coffee tables. All rooms are equipped with cable TV, wireless Internet, minibars, complimentary fruit, and hardback Stockholm guidebooks. Tiled bathrooms feature modern chrome fittings, dark-wood counters with black-marble tops, telephones, shower/tub combinations, and Molton Brown toiletries.

Driving Directions

The Arlanda Express train service operates every 20 minutes between the airport and Stockholm's Central Station; journey time is 20 minutes and a return fare is 380 SEK. The Flyggbussarna bus service also runs to and from Arlanda and Central Station every ten minutes; a return fare is 175 SEK. The hotel is 300 metres from both Slussen and Gamla Stan T-Banen stations, and buses from Central Station stop outside the hotel entrance. A taxi direct from the airport the hotel will cost approximately 450 SEK. A taxi from Central Station to the hotel will cost around 90 SEK. All prices are subject to change.
Driving directions: From the airport, follow signs for the E4, heading towards Stockholm centre. Take Klarastrandsleden to Tegelbacken. Turn left into Fredsgatan, and then right at Gustav Adolfs Torg square, crossing the river via the Norrbro bridge. Turn left into Slottskajen and then right into Skeppsbron.
