Description: Location. Built on the site of an old theatre and opened in 1999, the First Hotel Vesterbro is located on bustling Vesterbrogade, within 600 metres of Tivoli theme park and Copenhagen's Town Hall Square. The nearest airport is Copenhagen Kastrup, 12 kilometres away. Hotel Features. The pretty atrium garden is accessed through the lobby, and features red- brick walls with climbing vines, potted trees and plants, and tables and chairs. Here, guests can eat breakfast and relax with drinks throughout the day. A spiral staircase leads from the garden to the upper terrace, where a business centre with computer and Internet access is located, and where doors open onto the peaceful inner courtyard in summer.
The Idun Restaurant extends into the atrium garden and serves a Scandinavian buffet breakfast each morning. Traditional Danish dishes are on the menu for lunch and dinner, while the street-level lobby bar has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking busy Vesterbrogade and serves a range of snacks and drinks.
Guests enjoy complimentary access to the Multisport gym, 150 metres from the hotel, next to the New Theatre. The gym offers a range of cardiovascular and training equipment and guests can take aerobics and yoga classes for a surcharge.
Guestrooms. The First Hotel Vesterbro has 403 rooms spread over five floors. Bright modern decor is complemented by parquet flooring and Spanish cherry wood furniture. There are pencil drawing prints on the walls and all rooms have glass coffee tables, armchairs and bedside lamps. Amenities include air conditioning, high-speed Internet connections (surcharge), safes, cable television, and minibars.
Expert Tip. Walking down Vesterbrogade in the opposite direction to Tivoli for about 150 metres, guests will reach the New Theatre, tucked away on a side street and staging regular international productions. Further down, the trendy Vesterbro district is home to Michelin-star restaurants and an eclectic mix of shops and bars.
