Taxis are the simplest way to get around Cancun, and fare are moderate. Cabs are plentiful in the Hotel Zone and downtown; you can either flag one down or go to the taxi stand. Rates are posted at many hotel entrances, but you should establish the fare with the driver before getting in. Although tips are not expected, they are always appreciated.
Bus Service is another option; city buses and taxi vans, some of them air-conditioned, run throughout the Hotel Zone and downtown. The fares, in general quire low, vary somewhat depending on the type of vehicle, between N$2 and N$3 per person. Buses can be crowded during rush hours - 8 to 9am, 1 to 2pm, 4 to 5pm, and 7 to 9pm.
