Location. The British Colonial Hilton - Nassau has functioned for generations as a social and business center in Nassau, Bahamas. The hotel is built on the former site of Fort Nassau, a stronghold that was erected to thwart pirate attacks and Spanish invasions. Décor elements combine blue or purple crown molding, white walls, pastel ceilings, mocha-colored carpets and Bahamian prints. Furnishings include dark-wood, colonial-style furniture, large desks with ergonomic chairs and two telephones. Pink-marble floored bathrooms contain telephones, and feature separate tubs and showers. Televisions offer U.S. cable channels. High-speed Internet access is available.
Expert Tip. A seaside dining village called Arawak Cay Fish Fry is located one mile west of the hotel and contains numerous restaurants and cafés.
