This hotel also offers views of the Empire State Building, which is one block away. The shops and restaurants in the Manhattan Mall are three blocks from the property.
Hotel Features. The Hotel Metro's Art Deco lobby is enhanced with black and white photographs of actors from Hollywood's Golden Era. The independently operated hotel was opened in 1901, but has been updated to include modern amenities. Complimentary Internet access is available on the rooftop terrace. Tea and coffee are offered in the guest lounge, and complimentary continental breakfasts are served daily. The guest lounge also features a sitting area, library and plasma television. On the Mezzanine level, the hotel houses a business center with printing capabilities, a computer station and a small meeting room. The on-site Metro Grill is a street-side, Italian- inspired restaurant, which serves lunch and dinner. Additional amenities include a fitness facility and laundry service.
Guestrooms. The Metro Hotel offers 179 guestrooms and suites in early 20th- century contemporary style. Beds feature plush pillow- top mattresses, and marble bathrooms offer designer toiletries. Complimentary wireless Internet access, desks or dining tables, minibars and laptop-size safes are available in all guestrooms.
Expert Tip. The Hotel Metro opens its 14th-floor rooftop terrace during warmer months for cocktails, appetizers, occasional DJs and great views of the Empire State Building.
Renovation Notice:
Effective October 30, 2006, there is ongoing construction to the rooftop terrace that may periodically interrupt guest access to the roof. There is no estimated date of completion available at this time.
