Surrounded by 1,000 acres of lush tropical beauty, the Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort & Country Club provides secluded, elegant accommodations on Puerto Rico's north coast. The hotel sits on two miles of the Atlantic oceanfront on a former plantation. Opened in 1958, by Laurence Rockefeller as a place to vacation harmoniously with nature, the hotel remains true it its original intent. Dense, blossoming gardens in the resort's main section conceal buildings colored in soft earth tones. Tall palm trees curve gracefully upward, while natural forests cover much of the grounds. The hotel is two miles from downtown Dorado. Other nearby attractions include Old San Juan, the Bacardi Rum Distillery, the Arecibo Observatory and El Yunque Rain Forest.
The Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort offers 262 guestrooms in 19 low-rise buildings. All rooms feature pedestal, two- poster beds, terra-cotta tile floors with area rugs, ceiling fans and air conditioning, and either ocean-view balconies or ground-floor patios with lounge chairs and dining sets. The Su Casa Cottages are three two-story, hacienda-style buildings with red-tile roofs secluded on Rockefeller Point near the East golf course

The resort is home to four championship golf courses, including two Robert Trent Jones, Sr. greens, along with a new clubhouse and golf pavilion--the largest in Puerto Rico. The hotel also includes a fitness center and health spa offering various classes and massage services.

The property's main restaurant, Su Casa, is housed in the original hacienda build in 1928 and offers Spanish and Puerto Rican specialties for dinner only. The Clubhouse Restaurant & Bar provides ocean-view dining in the golf clubhouse adjacent to the East Course. The Surf Room serves a Continental menu of seafood and meats and is open for diner only, while the Ocean Terrace serves a buffet and a la carte meals daily.
