Location.Karavados Beach Hotel is a modern resort situated 300 metres from St Thomas Beach and one kilometre from Karavados village centre. Kefalonia Island International Airport is eight kilometres away, and takes around 15 minutes to reach by car.
Hotel Features.Karavados Beach Hotel has two outdoor swimming pools, including one for children, and a poolside bar. Staff can arrange excursions around the local area, assist with currency exchange, and lock valuables in the hotel safe. There is also a play area, a pool table and a television in the lobby. Complimentary parking is available for those arriving by car.

Karavados Beach Hotel Restaurant and Taverna is a traditional Greek eatery serving local dishes and Greek specialities, made with fresh ingredients and accompanied by the local Robola wine. Seating extends outside onto a terrace with garden and sea views.

Hotel staff arrange barbeque nights every Sunday evening, and traditional Greek-themed nights with music and dancing during August.

Guestrooms.The 53 guestrooms and 23 studio apartments are located on two floors, and can be reached by a lift. All extend to balconies with mountain or sea views, and include air conditioning, televisions, direct-dial phones, dial-up Internet connections, coffee and tea making facilities, refrigerators and bathrooms with hair dryers. Studio apartments also include kitchens or kitchenettes with cookware/dishes and separate sitting areas. The half- board room rate incorporates buffet breakfast and dinner each day.

Expert Tip. Ferries run from the main ferry port in Argostoli to the mainland and the island of Zante once or twice an hour. During the 30- minute crossing it is sometimes possible to catch sight of a pod of dolphins that live in the bay. Further along the seafront Loggerhead turtles can often be seen, particularly in the morning when the local fishing boats are selling their catch.

Driving Directions

Getting there. Taxis are available at the airport but can be expensive. The best way to get to the hotel is by hire car. Karavados can be explored on foot or by bicycle. Scooters are available to hire at the hotel. A hire car is recommended for travelling further afield.

Driving directions.From the airport take the first road on the right towards the village of Kourkoumelata, and then the second right towards Travliata. Take the third right for Karavado or St Thomas Beach and, once in Karavados, turn left at the church and continue towards the beach. The hotel is on the right.
