Description:
fiogf49gjkf0d Location. Opened in 2003, the modern 59-story JW Marriott Hotel in Shanghai, China, is the tallest hotel in Puxi (Shanghai's city center) and rockets above People's Square with the Shanghai Grand Theater below. Across the street, in stark architectural juxtaposition to the hotel, is the European-styled Shanghai Art Museum, which was originally built in the 19th century to stable thoroughbreds for Shanghai's horse racing track. Hotel Features. To gain perspective, guests can visit the top-floor JW's Lounge and savor one of 50 martinis on offer while listening to nightly live jazz music. China's first Mandara Thai spa is located in the hotel and offers a menu of Eastern and Western massage treatments. The JW's main ballroom, which offers balcony views of People's Park and People's Square, is divisible into three sections and comprises part of 1,642 square meters of total meeting space across 13 meeting rooms. Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant serves traditional Cantonese cuisine with dim sum and several Shanghainese dishes. On-site babysitting services and same-day dry cleaning are available.
Guestrooms. The JW Marriott Hotel's guestrooms are spacious and feature three telephones, large work desks, laptop safes, thick bathrobes and postcard-like city views. Dual-voltage electrical outlets and electrical adapters reflect the consideration given to international travelers. Marble bathrooms include tubs, separate showers with power massage jets, and anti-fog mirrors.
Expert Tip. One kilometer away at the northeast end of People's Square, visitors can stroll down the two-kilometer Nánjing Lù Pedestrian Mall. The Mall ends at the Huangpu River at the north end of Shanghai's famous Bund. From there, a delightful riverfront walk southward is in store with Shanghai's storied past told on the right in the nostalgic Deco facades, while to the left Shanghai's giddy future soars into the air on the glass and steel of Pudong's skyscrapers.
