Description:

Location. The Praia D'El Rey Marriott Golf and Beach Resort is a cliffside property built in traditional Portuguese style and is set in gardens overlooking western Shores of the Atlantic. It is 20 kilometres from the Medieval Obidos and 65 kilometres north of Lisbon. Lisbon (Portela) International Airport (LIS) is 72 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 60 minutes.
Hotel Features. Facilities at this family- friendly hotel include both indoor and outdoor pools, a Turkish bath and a spa tub. The gym is open round the clock and features personal trainers, and the hotel has a spa centre and hair salon offering a range of beauty therapies and treatments including body scrubs, wraps, facials, therapy baths and manicures. Children have a separate pool and during the summer there is a kids' club for 2-10 year olds. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the property (surcharge).

The hotel has two restaurants and two bars, in addition to a Clubhouse restaurant at the Golf Course. Guests can dine in style at the Romy, or enjoy a more relaxed buffet at the Atlantico Grill.

The hotel is flanked by a two-mile sandy beach, and there is a championship 18-hole golf course, driving range and putting green. Guests can join golf lessons, swimming lessons, and water aerobic classes. For kids there also is an adventure playground.

Expert Tip.The island of Berlenga is a 40- minute boat trip from the mainland. The journey takes in a variety of islands, reefs, arches and marine grottoes cut into the red cliffs. On Berlenga there is an old fortress, a lighthouse and a pretty beach.

Driving Directions

Getting there.The number 91 Aerobus shuttle departs from the airport every 20 minutes to the city centre and to the Cais do Sodré train station. Tickets can be purchased on board, and cost 2 EUR for a single or 3.10 EUR for all-day travel. From here a train can be caught to Obidos train station. The hotel can organise a shuttle pick up from the station (surcharge). Taxis wait outside Arrivals, and fare to the hotel should cost around 95 EUR. There is an extra fee for luggage, and at night there is 20 percent surcharge. All prices subject to change. Due to the location of this resort a hire car would be recommended to make the most of a visit to this region.

Driving directions.From Lisbon Airport take the first right off the roundabout for '2.ª Circular'. Follow blue signs to the A8 (make sure to get a ticket for the A8 motorway which costs 4.10 EUR at the first toll). Follow the A8 73km to exit 14 for 'Peniche'. Take the IP/6 for 4.5 kilometres to Exit 15 for 'Serra 'El Rey/Amoreira/Olho Marinho'. At the roundabout follow signs to Serra d'El Rey. Continue two kilometres to Serra Del Rey centre. Take a right at the second traffic lights towards Praia d'El Rey. Follow signs to Praia D'El Rey Resort. All prices are subject to change.
