Located on a hill above Bielefeld with views of the old town centre, the four storey Dormotel is set in 20 hectares of park and woodland. There are 118 guestrooms, with simple light decor and soft furnishings in cheerful colours and light wood furniture. All include satellite television,direct- dial telephones, modem points and bathrooms with hairdryers.
With dark wood furniture and plenty of natural light, the relaxed restaurant offers a range of regional and international dishes at lunch and dinner and open out onto a terrace for al fresco dining in fine weather. Beers, spirits and a selection of fine wines are on offer in the bar and guests can take advantage of the room service to enjoy drinks and snacks in the privacy of their rooms. For the summer months, there is outdoor swimming pool in the hotel gardens. The front desk is open round the clock and has a safe for valuables and those arriving by car can make use of free onsite parking. The hotel is within five kilometres of local attractions such as Sparrenburg medieval castle and Ravensberg spinning mill, Europe's oldest flax mill. The nearest airport is Hanover, which is 100 kilometres and about a 90-minute drive away.
