Pestana Dom Joao II is a Algarve beach resort with direct access to the white sands of Alvor Beach and 500 metres from the water sports centre at the Pestana Delfim hotel. This five-floor hotel features 247 air-conditioned guestrooms with simple, colourful decor and light pine furnishings; all provide satellite TV, direct-dial phones, hair dryers and safes.
After a day splashing about in the outdoor pool or relaxing on the sun terrace, guests can unwind with drinks at the poolside bar or in the hotel's sauna. A children's pool is also available for the little ones. Those guests wishing to surf the web or catch up with emails can take advantage of the hotel's wireless internet access. The front desk has a safe-deposit box for storing valuables and the parking facilities are free of charge. Taxis can be caught from outside the terminal building; typical fares are 9-12.50 EUR to Faro town, to Vilamoura 25-30 EUR, to Lagos 65-80 EUR and to Albufeira 35-45 EUR. Buses can also be caught outside the terminal building. AEROBUS provides a shuttle service between the airport and city centre daily (except Tuesday) in high season.
