Grand Central Station is within three blocks of the hotel. Hotel Features.. The Sofitel New York's sleek, curvaceous tower stands tall amidst in the bustle of Midtown Manhattan. The hotel lobby features rich marble flooring and formal sitting room with contemporary artwork on teakwood walls, fresh flowers and soft candlelight. The Gaby Restaurant is a sophisticated street-side brasserie serving continental cuisine for breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and is decorated with prints from French films. Post-theater menus are available after returning from an evening show. The Petit Bijou sundries shop offers unique items imported from France, including coffee-table books of New York and Paris. Each elevator contains either French or New York backdrops showcasing "transportation artwork" of planes, trains and automobiles. Le Fitness, the upscale fitness room, offers flat screen televisions and cardiovascular machines. Meeting space is abundant at the hotel, with the beautiful Paris Ballroom overlooking 44th Street.
