fiogf49gjkf0d Surrounded by canefields and fruit farms,
BUNDABERG
is famous for its
rum
, though the town is otherwise a humdrum place whose value as a jumping-off point for trips to Lady Elliot and Lady Musgrave
islands
is scarcely advertised. The adjacent coast is, however, an important place for
marine turtles
, who mass in huge numbers every summer to lay their eggs on the beaches; and those wanting
work
are virtually guaranteed seasonal employment (mostly Feb-Nov) picking avocadoes, tomatoes, snow peas and zucchini on farms in the area.
