), has free information and maps of the town and can make accommodation bookings. Regular
buses
can take you anywhere you don't feel like walking - the Ballarat Transit System (tel 03/5331 7777) has a flat two-hour fare of $1.45. Bus routes run from the bus terminal on Curtis Street, at the northern end of Bridge Mall, to Sovereign Hill and Eureka Street, and from Little Bridge Street past the Myer department store on Sturt Street to Lake Wendouree. You can use the system to get as far as Creswick, 18km north. Other useful information
