Many of Marsh Harbour's resorts feature excellent restaurants , including Angler's in Abaco Beach Resort , specializing in seafood like lime grouper, lobster pate and curried conch, and the Jib Room at Pelican Shores , serving prime lobster, ribs, steaks and seafood. Other eateries present a range of options, from fine dining by the sea to greasy spoons in the middle of nowhere.

Bayview Restaurant on the Water Bay St, Dundas Town. Just west of the harbour, featuring prime rib, Sunday champagne brunch and lots of Bahamian-style seafood.

Bistro Mezzomare Queen's Highway tel 242/367-4444. Upscale and sophisticated spot for great Italian food in a marina setting.

The Conch Inn Bay St tel 242/367-4000 or 1-800/688-4752. Famous for its fabulous breakfasts of jumbo French toast, and great dinners of calypso grouper and stuffed jalapeAħos, and fine gumbos and stews.

Mangos tel 242/367-2366. Housed in a large cedar home with cathedral-sized ceilings, serving scrumptious pork tenderloin with mango sauce, grilled chicken with garlic and ginger, veal piccata and cracked conch and ribs, among other specialties.

Mavis Country Kitchen Don McKay Blvd. The top authentic Jamaican and Bahamian diner in town, offering dishes like souse pot and jerk chicken.

Sapodilly's Harbour View Marina. Despite having picnic tables for dining, the restaurant's menu features a superb blue-cheese mushroom burger for lunch, and typically tasty catch-of-the-day for dinner.

Sharkee's Island Pizza across from Abaco Towns-by-the-Sea . The town's top choice for rich, filling pizza.

Wally's Bay St tel 242/367-2074. Bahamian colonial house filled with Haitian art, featuring burgers and conch salad for lunch, dinners with grilled lamb chops and cracked conch, and great drinks like the Goombay Smash. Closed Sun & Mon.
