fiogf49gjkf0d Most guests arrive at
Treasure Cay International Airport
from Nassau or West Palm Beach. Because of its small size, no one rents vehicles on Treasure Cay, though small
golf carts
are available from the resorts or at the marina for about US$35 per day. In any case, considering the amount of diving, fishing and sightseeing
tours
available, there's little need for motorized transport.
The centre of activity is the
Treasure Cay Beach Hotel Resort and Marina
(PO Box AB-22183 tel 242/365-8250 or 1-800/327-1584; US$130-160), offering beautifully furnished
hotel
rooms, suites, condos and small, self-catering villas and providing reduced guest rates for golf, tennis and dive packages. Located on the sands,
Banyan Beach Club
(PO Box AB-22158 tel 242/365-8111; villa US$1900/week) has condos with two or three bedrooms and ocean views. Several private agencies also offer
cottages
and
condos for rent
.
Options for
eating
and
nightlife
are quite limited on Treasure Cay outside of the major resorts, with a few exceptions:
Cafe La Florence
(tel 242/367-2570), a bakery, serves good quiche and cinnamon rolls;
The Spinnaker
, on the dock at
Treasure Cay Resort
, specializes in johnny cake for breakfast, burgers for lunch, and the catch-of-the-day for dinner; and north of the cay,
Touch of Class
is easily the best Bahamian restaurant.
