Post office The main office is at Rua XV de Novembro 700, by Praca Santos Andrade.

Shopping Several stores in the historic centre sell local crafts, by far the best being Feito Aqui - Artesanato do Parana, at Alameda Dr Muricy 950. If you're not tempted by the handcrafted furniture there are plenty of smaller items sold here, including beautiful wooden figurines and Christmas decorations. For Polish and Ukrainian items, including simple embroideries and intricately painted eggs, try the shops at the Memorial da Imigracao Ucraniana and in the Bosque Joao Paulo II. There's a surprisingly good selection of handicrafts, T-shirts and other souvenirs available at the airport. Shopping centres include Shopping Mueller, Av. Candido de Abreu 127, with over 200 shops; Shopping Curitiba, Rua Brigadeiro Franco 2300; the upscale Crystal Plaza Shopping, Rua Comendador Araujo 731, Batel, which has dozens of shops as well as a cinema; the small and exclusive Shopping Novo Batel, Alameda Dom Pedro II 5259, Batel, which specializes in women's clothing and accessories; and the enormous Estacao Plaza Show, behind the old railway station, which has over 130 shops, numerous restaurants, ten cinema screens and a huge bowling alley.

Telephones The telephone office is next to the main post office on Praca Santos Andrade and there are small kiosks along Rua das Flores.
