fiogf49gjkf0d Buses arrive at the modern
RodoviA?ria
situated between the two bridges that link the island to the mainland. Outside the main entrance, beyond the car park and dual carriageway, is the former waterfront area where one of the
municipal bus terminals
is situated. From here, frequent buses (70A?) set out for most parts of the city as well as to all points in the south of the island. Otherwise, buses to the northern and eastern beach resorts depart from the corner of Rua JosAİ da Costa Moelmann and Avenida Mauro Ramos, a fifteen-minute walk around the hillside. These buses run to a surprisingly accurate timetable (check times at the information booths) and are cheap, though generally crowded. Alternatively, from both terminals there are faster, more comfortable and more expensive
executivo
minibuses ($1.50) to most of the beaches.
The
airport
(tel 048/236-0879) is 12km south of the city and is served by taxis ($15) and "Aeroporto" buses (70A?), which take about forty minutes.
In PraA§a XV de Novembro, there's a
tourist information kiosk
(Dec-March Mon-Sat 7am-10pm, Sun 7am-7pm; April-Nov Mon-Sat 8am-6pm; tel 048/223-7796), where very good, free maps of the island and city are available. Listings of events in FlorianA?polis and elsewhere in Santa Catarina can be found in the daily newspaper
DiA?rio Catarinense.
