In the centre , on the roads which run off the main square in all directions, are numerous cheap, but largely uninspiring restaurants . One of the more distinctive is the Kaffa, on Rua Victor Meirellas behind the main post office, which offers huge portions of good and very reasonably priced Lebanese food. Good vegetarian meals are available at Vida, Rua Visconde de Ouro Preto 62 (Mon-Sat lunch only), as well as at the Sol da Terra, Rua Nereu Ramos 13, and the Natural Familia Doll, Rua Vidal Ramos 43a (both close at 5pm). There are several excellent bars and simple restaurants in the Mercado PA?blico, serving cold beer, light meals and tasty snacks: Box 32 (Mon-Fri 10am-9pm, Sat 10am-3pm) is known as a meeting point for local politicians and artists, while PirA?o do Mercado (Mon-Sat lunch only) specilaizes in local dishes of Azorean origin.
