Banks and exchange Cambodian Commercial Bank, Sivatha Street, north of the night market, offers credit-card cash advances and travellers' cheques. Other banks offer only travellers' cheques at the standard two-percent commission. Western Union (tel 012/846517), opposite the hospital, can organize money transfers from overseas.

Internet access ABC Computer School, opposite the Cambodian Commercial Bank, offers Internet connection at $5 for ten minutes; Angkor Internet CafAŠ, opposite the National Bank, charges $15 for one hour, and can whip up a tasty CafAŠ Lao. They also offer an email address facility for $25 per month.

Post office The main post office is on the western bank of the river, 500m north of the Old Market. Open daily 7am-5pm for stamps, telephone, fax, postcards and souvenirs.

Supermarkets Stock up on bottles of spirits, Rizlas and a scattering of Western luxuries at Lotus Market, opposite the Old Market in town.

Telephone services Bayon Business Centre, near junction of Route 6 and Sivatha Street (tel 063/964914), offers fax, telephone, travel-agent services and exchange; Lotus Temple (tel 063/964029) at the Chao Say Guesthouse near the Old Market has similar services, with additional email facilities; The Swiss Centre, Sivatha Street (tel 015/638808), can organize telephone, fax, email, computer rental, typing and translation services.
