(tel 927-2021; $10).
For
eating
, Sept-Iles has great seafood restaurants such as the rather expensive
Chez Omer

drinks
) at nearby
Cafe du Port
at no. 495, while the
Pub St-Marc
further down the road at no. 588 is a surprisingly stylish bar serving microbrews, with a more expensive restaurant upstairs. Montagnais specialties are pricey but well-prepared at
Chez Jonathan
, in the Musee Shaputuan at the west end of town.
The
bus
station, 126 rue Monseigneur-Blanche (tel 962-2126), has buses east to Havre-St-Pierre; the QNS&L
train
station, with 2-3 trains a week to Labrador City ($100 return
) and Schefferville ($137 return), is on rue Retty at the east end of town; information and tickets are available from Vacances Inter (tel 962-9411). The
Nordik Express
supply
ship
from Rimouski leaves Sept-Iles every Wednesday morning at 6am, arriving at Port-Menier on the Ile d'Anticosti ($45.45; $63.12 with meals) that afternoon and Havre-St-Pierre ($63.82; $97.22 with meals) in the evening, before continuing along the Basse Cote-Nord to Blanc-Sablon near the Labrador border.
