Shorter and cheaper ($45) ninety-minute river trips are available on the Yukon Lou from the dock behind the Birch Cabin ticket office close to the SS Keno (tel 993-5482). Trans North Helicopters (tel 993-5494) run helicopter trips over the gold fields, the Klondike Valley and Midnight Dome: fixed-wing plane tours are available from Siston Air (tel 993-5599) and Bonanza Aviation (tel 993-5209). For further details of tours and general information, contact the Visitor Reception Centre on Front Street (tel 993-5566). Information is also available from the public library on 5th and Queen (Tues, Wed & Fri noon-7pm, Thurs noon-8pm, Sat 11am-5pm). For books and guides visit Maximilian's (tel 993-5486) on the corner of Front and Queen.

Currency exchange and ATM facilities exist at the CIBC bank (tel 993-5447) on Queen Street, between Front and 2nd, while maps are available from the mining recorder's office alongside the post office (Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm; tel 993-5342) on 5th Street between Harper and Princess. For showers (there are none at the Yukon River Campground ), the most central are the tight-fit bathrooms at the laundry behind the Chief Isaac Hale building alongside the visitor centre. There are also showers at the municipal swimming pool by the museum.
