There's a direct bus to San JosAŠ daily at 6am (6hr), and one to Liberia daily at 6am (1-2hr). Alternatively, you could take one of the daily buses to Santa Cruz at 10am and 3pm, from where you can connect with local services to Liberia or San JosAŠ (call 221-7202 for schedule information). As always, bus timetables are likely to change. Buses currently stop at the town circle, in front of the Parquecito. Continuing down the west coast of the peninsula is only really possible if you have your own transport, preferably a 4WD, although you can pick up occasional services to SA?mara or Nosara from Santa Cruz and Nicoya.

Travelair and Sansa both have daily flights to San JosAŠ; Sansa also operate a daily flight to San JosAŠ via Fortuna in the Arenal area (US$60). You can buy tickets from the Sansa office, on the road into town on the right-hand side, about 400m before you reach the village loop. The airstrip is located 2.5km north of town.
