Eating and drinking

There are three main types of establishment in Prague and elsewhere in the country where you can get something to eat: a restaurant ( restaurace ), where eating is ostensibly the main activity; a wine restaurant ( vinA?rna ), which tends to think of itself as a touch more exclusive; and, that most typical of Czech institutions, the pub ( pivnice ), though these are largely concerned with serious drinking - and are covered in the next section. In practice, these definitions are blurred, with some places having restaurace and pivnice sections under the same roof, some vinA?rna offering food, some only wine, and so on.
