Flights touch down at either Canefield Airport , just outside Roseau, or Melville Airport , much farther away on the northeast coast. Taxi rates from Canefield Airport to Roseau are fixed at EC$20. You can also walk out to the main road and flag down a minibus that will cost you about EC$2 to go the two miles to the town centre. Getting into the capital from Melville Airport is much more expensive: your best bet is to share a taxi (EC$42 per person) since doing it alone costs EC$130, and what bus service exists is unreliable at best.

Ferries arrive at the northern edge of Roseau, within walking distance of most guesthouses and hotels. If you're staying in the Castle Comfort area, a mile south of Roseau, grabbing a taxi or a bus (EC$1) are inexpensive options.

Both the airports and the ferry docks have modest information counters (daily 6.30am-6pm); the main island tourist office is in Roseau, on the Bay Front (Mon-Fri 8am-4pm, Sat 9am-2pm; tel 767/448-2401). All have detailed island maps .
