Arrival, information and getting around

The only way to get to Las Terrenas by road if you don't have your own car is a RD$40 pick-up truck leaving every half-hour from the Texaco station at SA?nchez. Alternately, you can fly into El Portillo Airport, 6km east of town, on Air Santo Domingo (tel 809/240-6094), which has daily flights from Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, La Romana and Santo Domingo.

You probably won't have too much trouble just walking where you want to go - the town's layout is exceedingly straightforward, with just one main thoroughfare, the Carretera Las Terrenas - but if you need a lift anywhere, motoconcho rides within town are RD$10 during the day, double that at night.
