fiogf49gjkf0d Quito has recently adopted a new
street-numbering
system, whereby north-south streets are prefixed by the letter N (for
norte
) when they're north of the old town, while addresses on east-west streets are prefixed by E (for
este
- east) or O (for
oueste
- west) to indicate which side of Avenida 10 de Agosto they're on. The numbers following these letters represent the block number and then the house number, separated by a dash. Many individuals and businesses have resisted the new address system - throughout the text we give the form of address used by the establishments themselves.
