fiogf49gjkf0d Since most people stay in the new town and do their sightseeing in the old town, you'll probably end up using public transport as a means of shuttling between the two (the alternative is a 45min walk). This is much easier than the frenetic volume of traffic on Quito's streets might initially suggest, especially if you use the superb
trolley-bus
system. Ordinary
buses
are a bit more daunting, but once you get the hang of them turn out to be quite straightforward. Finally,
taxis
are so cheap compared to Europe or North America that you may well end up using nothing but these to get around the city. By the time you read this, the new "
bus ecolA?gico
" system should also be up and running - a state of the art, non-polluting bus serving the axis formed by Avenida 6 de Diciembre and its extensions.
