fiogf49gjkf0d Most tourists travel directly to Aswan from Cairo (889km) or Luxor (215km), as detailed in the introduction to this section; a few arrive by
    service
taxi from Esna, Edfu or Kom Ombo (see the respective entries for details), or by felucca from Luxor.

    Aside from
    Aswan airport
, 23km south of town (A?E20 by four-seater taxi), points of arrival are fairly central. The
     train station
lies in the northern part of town, five minutes' walk from the Corniche or the bazaar quarter. The inter-city
    bus station
is smack in the centre on Sharia Abtal el-Tahrir, while
    feluccas
tie up alongside the Corniche. The inter-city
    service taxi
depot is more awkwardly located, across the tracks and south of the train station; at the time of writing it was off-limits to foreign tourists.
