The gare SNCF is south of the centre, about a ten-minute walk from the chateau. Bus #2 makes the journey to the tourist office and chateau, bus #22 to place du Raillement, which is handy for cheap hotels. The gare routiere is up past the Pont de Verdun on place de la Poissonnerie. Local buses operate on a flat ticket rate of 6F/€0.91; you can pick up a free route map from Cotra, espace Lorraine. The main tourist office is on place Kennedy, facing the chateau (May-Sept Mon-Sat 9am-7pm, Sun 10am-1pm & 2-6pm; Oct-April Mon 11am-6pm, Tues-Sat 9am-6pm, Sun 10am-1pm; tel 02.41.23.51.11, fax 02.41.23.51.10, www.ville-angers.fr ); it sells a 50F/€7.62 museum pass , which allows access to the tapestries as well as the city's museums and galleries.
