The gare SNCF and gare routiere (tel 02.98.44.46.73) are together in place du 19eme-RI at the bottom of avenue Clemenceau. Bus services include those to Plouescat and Roscoff (Les Cars du Kreisker; tel 02.98.69.00.93); to the Crozon peninsula via Landevennec (tel 02.98.27.02.02); and to Le Conquet (Sarl St Mathieu Transports; tel 02.98.98.12.02). Brest's tourist office on avenue Clemenceau faces place de la Liberte (mid-June to mid-Sept Mon-Sat 9.30am-12.30pm & 2-6.30pm, Sun 10am-noon & 2-4pm; rest of year Mon-Sat 10am-12.30pm & 2-6pm; tel 02.98.44.24.96, office.de.tourisme.brest@wanadoo.fr ).

As well as the sailings to Ouessant , in summer three or four boats per day, run by Societe Azenor (tel 02.98.41.46.23), make the 25-minute crossing from Brest's Port de Commerce to Le Fret on the Crozon peninsula (June-Sept; 90F/€13.72 return). Sailings are met at the port in Le Fret by buses for Crozon (15min), Morgat (30min) and Camaret (40min). Societe Azenor and other operators also run excursions around the harbour and the Rade de Brest (1hr 30min).

The vast majority of Brest's hotels remain open throughout the year; only a few, however, bother to maintain their own restaurants. Several lie within easy walking distance of the stations, in the vicinity of the central place de la Liberte. The year-round hostel is on rue de Kerbriant, Port de Plaisance du Moulin-Blanc (tel 02.98.41.90.41), 3km east of the gares SNCF and routiere in a wooded setting near Oceanopolis, on bus route #7 or the Bus Albatros.
