or boulevard KA©rguelen (also CAT); to Pont l'AbbA© and St-GuenolA©, from place St-Corentin (Cariou Castric Lecoeur; tel 02.98.47.04.08); and to Concarneau and Pont-Aven, also from place St-Corentin (Sarl Transports Caoudal RA©nA©; tel 02.98.56.96.72).
Between July and September you can sail from Quimper down the Odet to BA©nodet, which takes about 1hr 15min, on Vedettes de l'Odet (BA©nodet tel 02.98.57.00.58, Quimper tel 02.98.52.98.41, www.vedettes-odet.com ; 115F/a?¬17.53 return). Between two and four boats each day leave from the end of quai de l'Odet; times vary with the tides so check with the tourist office (which also sells tickets). There are remarkably few hotels in the old streets in the centre of Quimper, though there are some near the station. There's a four-star campsite , Orangerie de Lannion , 4km out of the centre on the route de BA©nodet (tel 02.98.90.62.02; www.lanniron.com ; closed mid-Sept to mid-May). Gradlon , 30 rue du Brest (tel 02.98.95.04.39, fax 02.98.95.61.25). Central but quiet and exceptionally friendly hotel. The rooms are not cheap but they're very nicely decorated. This small, unassuming, but very friendly hotel near the station offers consistently the cheapest rooms in town. Closed Sun Sept-June. Under 160F/a?¬24.
