Burghausen's Bahnhof is situated just over 1km north of the town centre, which is reached by following Marktler Strasse straight ahead. The tourist office (Mon-Wed 8am-noon & 2-4pm, Thurs 8am-noon & 2-6pm, Fri 8am-noon; tel 0 86 77/24 35, fax 88 71 55, www.burghausen.de ) is in the Rathaus at Stadtplatz 112.

All three hotels mentioned above have restaurants with beer gardens. Hottest nightspot is the Jazzkeller in the Mautnerschloss on Mautnerstrasse at the southern edge of the old town, which attracts the big names for periodic jazz festivals .
