. The favourite local
snack

Coburger
, a long sausage given a distinctively sharp taste by being grilled over pine cones rather than the usual wood or charcoal; the stands on Marktplatz sell authentic examples. Coburg is also known for its dumplings, made according to a recipe combining the Thuringian and Franconian traditions by using both raw and cooked potatoes.
