Nightlife
is concentrated in the same general areas as the tavernas. At the west end of VenizAŠlou, in the streets behind the inner harbour, the overflow from a small cluster of noisy music bars -
Venetsianako, Dimman
and
Xtreme
- begins to spill out onto the pavement as partygoers gather for the nightly opening of the
Fortezza Disco
in the inner harbour itself, which is the glitziest in town, flanked by its competitors
Metropolis, NYC, Nitro
and the nearby
Opera Club
a little way down SalamAnos. Heading up this street, a string of more subdued cocktail bars -
PetaloA?da, Memphis, Santan
and
Pasodia
- cater for those in search of a quieter drink, as does
Notas
, at Himeras 27 near the
Fortezza
and facing the
Atelier
pension, which puts on live (acoustic) guitar and song every night. A new bar scene popular with the local student community has recently taken root around PlatAa Plastira, above the inner harbour, where music bars include
Karma, Art, Da Cappo
and
Enzzo
