fiogf49gjkf0d Tegucigalpa is the transport hub of the nation, with regular
bus departures
for all the major towns and numerous smaller ones. Departures
south
to the Golfo de Fonseca,
north
to San Pedro Sula and
east
to Olancho are frequent and the roads good; you'll need to buy tickets before boarding if you're taking an intercity bus. Getting to destinations off the main highways - Copan, the west, and the north coast, for example - is not as straightforward; in most cases there's no alternative to a slow and tiring bus journey on bad roads, though
flying
to the north coast is one alternative. Leaving Tegucigalpa by bus can be bewildering initially; routes are generally operated by several companies, out of their own private terminals. We've listed the major companies, with terminal addresses and phone numbers.
