The Arjosari bus terminal is 7km northeast of the city centre on Jalan Ratu Intan and served by blue city bemos to the city. City bemos (4am-11pm; flat fare Rp500) run between two of the three Malang bus terminals and are labelled by the two letters of the relevant terminals. "A" refers to Arjosari, "G" is Gadang, 5km south of the city centre on Jalan Kolonel Soegiono, and "L" is for Landung Sari on Jalan Majen Haryono, 6km northwest of the city centre. So, for example, LA operates between Landung Sari and Arjosari. GA and AG are not the same route, worth noting if you're heading to an intermediate point. The train station is a short walk east of Jalan Tugu.

When it comes to moving on , you could consider getting a minibus instead of the usual bus to Surabaya, Solo or Yogyakarta; expect to pay around three times the express bus price. Several places also sell night-bus tickets which include a hotel pick-up. Agents are: Helios Hotel, Jl Pattimura 37 (tel 0341/362741); Haryono, Jl Kahuripan 22 (tel 0341/367500), who can book Pelni and flight tickets; Tuju Transport, Jl Kertanegara 5 (tel 0341/368363), who also book Pelni and flight tickets; Toko Oen Travel Service, Jl Jend Basuki Rachmat 5 (tel 0341/364052); Juwita, Jl KH Agus Salim 11 (tel 0341/362008); and Harapan Transport, Jl Surapati 42 (tel 0341/353089), close to Helios Hotel.
