You'll have no trouble finding places to eat in Cashel. There are several coffee shops on Main Street and good-value meals are served at The Bakehouse . For pub food try Kearney's Castle Hotel , or Hannigan's , both on Ladyswell Street, the top end of the main road. Spearman's, 97 Main St, serves good, wholesome meals, but if you feel like splashing out, head for Chez Hans (closed Sun & early Jan; tel 062/61177) which serves top-notch meals in the unlikely setting of a former Wesleyan chapel.

A great deal of music is laid on in the summer - from rock, through country and western, to singalong and traditional Irish. This last tends to move around, but Cashel is a very small town, so if there's something going on, it won't be hard to find. Likely spots worth checking out include three on Main Street: Feehan's, Con Gleeson's and the cosy Dowling's .
