Roads from the north and the east converge on the river at the
train station

bus station
, on Merchants Quay, (tel 051/879000) lie over the bridge to the south. Regular daily trains connect Waterford to Clonmel, Tipperary, Limerick, Wexford, Kilkenny and Dublin. In addition to regular Bus Eireann services, Rapid Express Club Travel (tel 051/872149), operates a cheap
bus service
to Dublin; buses leave from outside the Bank of Ireland, Parnell Street. Scheduled
flights
from London arrive at Waterford Regional Airport in Killowen eight miles south of the city (tel 051/875589). There's no bus between the airport and the city: a taxi will cost you around ?10/€12.70.
The
tourist office
is in The Granary, roughly midway along the quays that run along the south side of the river and effectively form the city's northern boundary between the bridge across the River Suir and the nineteenth-century clock tower (Jan-March & Oct-Dec Mon-Fri 9am-5pm; April-June & Sept Mon-Sat 9am-6pm; July & Aug Mon-Sat 9am-6pm, Sun 11am-5pm; tel 051/875823); as well as providing a wealth of information about the city and the surrounding region, it offers an accommodation booking service for a small fee.
