CA?gliari's port lies in the heart of the town, opposite Via Roma; there's a tourist office here that opens to coincide with the arrival of ferries . The airport sits beside the city's largest stagno (lagoon): facilities include a bureau de change and an information office (daily: mid-June to mid-Sept 8am-8pm; mid-Sept to mid-June 9am-1pm & 4-6pm; tel 070.240.200). An ARST bus service into town runs at least every ninety minutes from 6.15am until midnight to Piazza Matteotti and takes fifteen minutes (tickets from the shop behind the information office); otherwise a taxi ride costs around L25,000/a?¬12.91.

Piazza Matteotti holds the train and bus stations and is the terminus for most local buses , tickets (L1300/a?¬0.68) for which are sold at the booth; FMS buses for Sant'Antonio and Carbonia leave from Via Roma and Via C. Colombo (behind Piazza Deffenu); and the FdS station, for slow trains to Arbatax, is a twenty-five minute walk from Piazza Matteotti, at Piazza Repubblica (on Via Dante).

Piazza Matteotti also has a tourist information kiosk (March-Oct Mon-Sat 8am-8pm, July to mid-Sept also Sun 9am-7pm; Nov-Feb Mon-Sat 8am-2pm; tel 070.669.255), but the main tourist office is at Via Mameli 97 (mid-Feb to May Mon-Sat 9am-7pm; June-Aug daily 8am-8pm; Sept Mon-Sat 8am-8pm, Sun 9am-2pm; Oct to mid-Feb Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm, Sat 8am-1.30pm; tel 070.664.195).
