train station
is on Via Dante, on the northern edge of the city centre, ten minutes' walk from the focal Piazza del Comune; bus #1 runs regularly to the Piazza Cavour, also in the centre. Most intercity buses stop at the train station or at the
bus station
next door.
The
tourist office
is on the Piazza del Comune, opposite the duomo (Mon-Sat 9.30am-noon & 3-6pm, Sun 9.45am-noon; tel 0372.23.233,

), and has maps, leaflets and details of classical concerts. They also have lists of violin makers' workshops (Botteghe Liutarie) and will be able to tell you if the school of violin making in Palazzo Raimondi is open for visits.
If you want to stay over in Cremona, the cheapest
hotel
is the
Bologna
