fiogf49gjkf0d Rieti's
train station
is just north of the town centre on the far side of Viale L. Morroni. By
train
from Rome it's around three hours to Rieti: there's no direct link and you have to change at Terni (and sometimes Orte) for a line that eventually continues to L'Aquila and Sulmona. The
bus station
is in Via Fratelli Sebastiani off Via Salaria, and several
buses
a day ply back and forth to Rome (a 2hr journey). If you need
to stay
, the
Serena
, Viale della GioventA? 17 (tel 0746.270.930; L90,000-120,000/a?¬46.48-61.98), is probably the cheapest option close to the centre of town, and has a few cheaper rooms without baths. If you want to be in the centre itself, try the
Europa
, Via San Rufo 49 (tel 0746.495.149; L90,000-120,000/a?¬46.48-61.98), which also has some cheaper rooms. You can
eat
inexpensively at
Pizzeria Il Pappamondo
, Piazza Cavour 63 (closed Tues), or, for a little more money, try
Bistrot
, on Piazza San Rufo 25 (closed Sun), a family-run place whose adventurous and varied menu changes daily.
