Bus information Ticket offices beneath Piazza Gramsci have information on all routes. The Sienese bus company is called TRA-IN - don't confuse its name or logo for anything to do with trains! Lazzi or TRA-IN run roughly half-hourly to Poggibonsi, where you must change for San Gimignano (buy a through ticket), and half-a-dozen times daily to Montalcino and Montepulciano. Note that some buses to the hill-towns south of Siena now depart from the train station, not from Piazza Gramsci. Lazzi and SITA also run regularly to Florence (take an express), and to Massa Marittima, Volterra and Rome.

Parking The two biggest parking garages - run by the same company and clearly signposted - charge around L2500/a?¬1.29 per hour (daily 7am-11pm) but are misleadingly named: "Parcheggio Il Campo" and "Parcheggio Il Duomo" are a long way south of either the Campo or the duomo, just inside the Porta Tufi and Porta San Marco respectively. Parking outside the city gates is free. Tourists are permitted to drive through the old town alleys only in order to check in at their hotel.
