Many of Siracusa's restaurants are overpriced, but there are some good-value places. Spaghetteria do Scogghiu , Via Scina 11, has a huge selection of cheap pasta and is popular at night. La Siciliana , Via Savoia 17 and Nonna Margherita at Via Cavour 12 on Ortygia, have a wide range of good pizzas which often draw queues. For fish, the Trattoria Archimede , Via Gemmellaro 8, is frequented by locals, while Pescomare , just off Piazza del Duomo at Via Landolina 6, serves pizzas too, in an atmospheric, plant-filled old courtyard. For top-quality nosh, take a taxi or hike out to the rustic Ristorante Jonico , Riviera Dionisio il Grande 194 (tel 0931.655.40; closed Tues), where a meal of superb antipasti and staggeringly delicious fresh fish will cost around L60,000/a?Ŧ31.20. Good bars and cafAŠs are easy to come by, two of the best being the outdoor Bar Ortygia , at the Fonte Aretusa, and the Bar Del Ponte , at the end of the Ponte Nuovo on Ortygia - a good breakfast place, this one.
