Kanazawa has a great range of
restaurants
. The local cuisine,
kaga ryori
, is expensive and best sampled for lunch or at the major hotels, where special set menus are often available. Also worth trying is seafood and sushi; the best place to head is north of Korinbo to the teeming alleys of Omicho Ichiba, the daily market around which you'll find many small sushi bars and
shokudo
(cafeterias) serving rice-bowl dishes (
donburi
